These terms govern your use of billionairelist.com and its API (the service). The service is provided by the administrator of the billionairelist.com service, who can be reached at [email protected]. By creating an account or using the service you accept these terms, the privacy policy, the cookie policy and the refund policy.
The service
BillionaireList publishes a ranking and profiles of the world's billionaires, built from dated net worth estimates and facts taken from public sources. Public pages are free to read. Paid plans add alerts, saved lists, exports, full history, the API, webhooks and team features, as described on the pricing page.
Accounts
You need an account to use paid features and the one-time demo. You must give a valid email address, confirm it with the code we send, keep your password secure and be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for activity under your account. On plans with several seats, each seat is for one named person and may not be shared.
Subscriptions and billing
- Plans are sold as monthly or yearly subscriptions. The price, billing period and included limits are shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel.
- You can cancel at any time in your account. Cancelling stops future renewals, and you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Moving to a higher plan or from monthly to yearly billing takes effect after the price difference is paid. Moving to a lower plan takes effect at the next renewal.
- Usage limits, such as exported rows and API requests, count what you use in each billing period. Deleting a list or an export does not restore a limit.
- Payments are final except as set out in the refund policy.
- Prices may change. A new price applies to an existing subscription only from the next renewal after we notify you by email.
Data licence
Subject to these terms and an active plan, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the data you access through the service as follows.

On every plan:
- you may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the dataset, or any substantial part of it, as data;
- you may not build a competing ranking, database or data product from it;
- you may not scrape the site or bypass plan limits by automated means;
- when you publish a figure, cite its date and the original source shown with it.
Short quotations of individual figures with attribution to BillionaireList are permitted on any plan. Data you exported while your plan was active may stay in reports you produced during that time.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the service to harass, stalk, threaten or contact any person shown on a profile in an unlawful way, to locate anyone's home or family, or for any purpose that breaks applicable law, including data protection and anti-spam law. We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Estimates are not investment advice
Net worth figures are estimates made at a point in time from public sources. They are not statements of fact about any person's finances, and nothing on the service is investment, financial, legal or tax advice. Do not rely on the service as the only basis for an investment, credit, lending or similar decision.
Accuracy
We work to keep the data accurate, dated and sourced, and we correct errors when evidence shows them. We do not guarantee that any figure, fact or description is complete, current or correct, and estimates from different publishers can differ. The service is provided as is and as available.
Availability
We aim to keep the service available at all times but do not promise uninterrupted access, except for the API uptime target of 99.9 percent per calendar month on Enterprise, excluding announced maintenance. We may change or improve features, provided the features of your paid plan remain substantially available during the period you have paid for.
Intellectual property
The site, the descriptions written by our editors, the design and the compiled database are protected by law. Facts themselves are not owned by anyone; the selection, arrangement and descriptions are ours.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits or lost opportunities arising from use of the service or reliance on its data. Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to the amount you paid for the service in that period. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or the statutory rights of consumers.
Termination
You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, after notice where possible. When an account is closed, the data licence ends, except for reports already produced as set out above.
Disputes and chargebacks
If you think a charge is wrong, contact [email protected] first. Opening a chargeback without doing so breaches these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We change the date at the top and, for material changes, notify account holders by email before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the updated terms.
